October is Dwarfism Awareness Month and today we wanted to share our top five organisations and people with dwarfism to follow that support, educate, advocate and celebrate dwarfism in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little People UK<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The big charity for Little people, with patron Warwick Davis at the helm, Little People UK<\/a> is an invaluable resource to the dwarfism community, their friends and families, they offer friendship, support and advice to all little people in the UK and campaign to ensure that all little people are portrayed in the media in a positive way. Each year they hold two events, which give their members a chance to meet up and take part in activities and workshops, to provide them with knowledge related to dwarfism, and also create an equal social environment where difference and ability are irrelevant, ensuring a positive and supportive future is being created. Danielle Webb<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Danielle Webb is the author of Mummy, there\u2019s a new girl,<\/a> Creator of Short Perspectives, Evaluation Officer and Youth Worker and Vice Chair for LPUK<\/a>. ‘Mummy, there’s a new girl’- is a children’s book that highlights diversity and that it’s ok to be different. “When a new girl joins the class, many of the children pick on her for her looks, but one brave little boy looks past her differences and learns that really- size is no big deal!” You can follow Danielle on her blog Life being Little<\/a>, Facebook, on X<\/a> and instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Erin Pritchard<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr Erin Pritchard is a Senior Lecturer in Disability Studies at Liverpool Hope University and activist for the rights of people with dwarfism. She is the author of upcoming book ‘Dwarfism Arts and Advocacy: Creating our Own Positive Identity.’ Written by or with people with dwarfism who work in the arts and media to push for better representations and understanding of Dwarfism. Steph – Hello Little Lady<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Steph from a creative practitioner with a rare form of proportionate Dwarfism known as Russell Silver Syndrome.  For over 15 years, she has been writing and making art to platform and give a voice to the lived experience of Dwarfism. Fatima Timbo<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fatima, or as you may know her, Fats Timbo is an award winning creator in comedy and beauty and author. She was just named Glamour UK and Tinder’s Creator Woman of the Year’<\/a> and entertains and educates the world with her 3 million followers on Tiktok where she teaches fans about dwarfism<\/a> and ableism with her trademark humour and warmth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
